Scratch-off promo video: reveal your Black Friday code like a prize

A scratch card turns a discount code into a reveal people watch to the end. What to show, how to write it, and how to render a premium scratch-off video from your deal and code.

Oct 31, 2026 · 2 min read

A discount code is the least exciting thing a shop posts all year. A scratch card fixes that. Instead of reading "40% off with code SCRATCH40", the viewer watches the foil come off and finds out with you. Gamified shopping (spin-to-win, mystery boxes, scratch cards) keeps showing up in holiday promotions, because a reveal holds attention until the last frame, and that's where your code is.

What to show, in order

TimeOn screenWhy
0–1 sA premium card on a dark surface; a glint runs across the silver foil. "Scratch for your Black Friday deal."The hook is the question: what's under the foil?
1–4 sA coin scratches the foil away row by row; foil dust flies off; letters start to show.Partial reveals keep people watching.
4–5 sThe last foil falls away; the deal lands big in gold, with the code under it.The payoff, in two or three words.
5–9 sThe deadline and the call to action. What to do, and by when.

Write the reveal

  • Keep the deal short. Two or three words that read in a second: "40% off", "Free gift".
  • Say what it applies to. A short line under the deal ("everything, all weekend") saves you the comments.
  • Test the code before you post, and pin it in the caption.

Make it from a brief

The Scratch-Off Deal Reveal Skill renders the whole thing on your machine:

Make a Black Friday scratch-off reveal for Kova Home: 40% off everything all weekend, code SCRATCH40, ends Monday at midnight. Vertical and 4:5.

It draws a black ticket with gold details on black marble, a gold coin scratching the foil, the foil dust and the gold reveal, in 9:16, 4:5, 1:1 and 16:9 from one file. No footage, no editing app and no API key. See the sample.

Posting it

  • TikTok, Reels and Shorts: post the 9:16 and pin the code in the caption so people can copy it.
  • Feeds: the 4:5 keeps the tall ticket; the 1:1 and 16:9 use a card shape.
  • Email: the last frame makes a good header image for the same offer.

FAQ

Can I reveal a gift instead of a discount? Yes. Put "Free gift" or "Mystery box" as the deal and explain it in the line below.

Can I use my own background? Yes. Any top-down surface photo works; the black marble ships as the default.

How long is it? About nine seconds.
