Give it one half-body, front-facing photo and a one-word title. It turns the photo into a fashion poster with silk ribbons in the outfit's colours, animates her turning with the ribbons while the outfit flows seamlessly into a new look, and sets magazine-style type over the footage.

About this Skill

You say

/silk-ribbon-fashion-film Make a silk ribbon fashion film from this photo of our model for the autumn drop: she changes from the red leather coat into our emerald suit. Title 'Couture', masthead 'Maison Kova', date 10/26. 9:16 and 4:5.

The film opens on a fashion poster built from your photo: glossy silk ribbons in the colours of the outfit sweep around the person, with solid discs and a faint grey echo behind. She turns away from the camera as the ribbons rotate with her, comes back around, and her outfit flows seamlessly into a new look (red leather to an emerald suit in the sample) while the ribbons, discs and backdrop change colour with it. A big serif title with staggered letters, a masthead, a date and short notes build in on top, and the accents shift colour with the outfit.

How it works

  1. Brief: your agent asks only for what's missing: one half-body, front-facing photo of one person (sharp, evenly lit, face and outfit visible), the new look to change into (or keep the default emerald suit), a one-word title, and optional kicker, badge, year, tag line, masthead, date and up to four short notes. You also need a fal.ai API key: the footage is generated on fal.ai for about $2 per format.
  2. Keyframes: it turns your photo into three stills (the opening poster, the turn, the new look) and shows them to you before spending more.
  3. Motion: Kling 4.0 animates the three stills into one continuous 10-second shot, with no cuts.
  4. Type: the title, masthead, date and notes are rendered over the footage on your machine, in any language, and re-rendered for free whenever the copy changes.

Tips

  • Use a sharp, front-facing half-body photo with the face and outfit clearly visible; a plain background works best.
  • Describe the new look concretely (garment, fabric, colour): "a cobalt silk shirt under a black blazer" works better than "something blue".
  • Check the three keyframes before generating the video: they cost about $0.45, the video about $1.60.
  • Use a title of four to eight letters; the fourth letter rises and the fifth drops below the line by design.

FAQ

What do I need besides the photo?

A fal.ai account and API key, set as FAL_KEY in your own terminal. The Skill uses Nano Banana Pro for the keyframes and Kling 4.0 for the motion; fal.ai bills you directly, about $2 per 10-second film per format at October 2026 prices.

Can I choose the new outfit and colours?

Yes. Describe the outfit, the ribbon colours, the disc colour and the backdrop of the closing look. The opening look always takes its colours from your photo.

Does it keep the person's face?

Every keyframe is generated from your photo with the same face, hair and makeup, and the video is anchored to those keyframes. Check them before the video step and regenerate any that drift.

Can I use any photo of a person?

Only a photo of someone who agreed to appear in your ad, or stock whose licence allows it. Don't use anyone's likeness without permission.
