How to make a product reveal video (the keynote-style launch shot) with AI

A product rising out of the dark into a spotlight, then the name — the launch-day classic. How to structure it, prepare your product photo, and render it with Claude Opus 5.5.

The product reveal is the shot every launch keynote ends on: darkness, a spotlight, the product rising into view, a glint of light across it, then the name. It's short, dramatic and works for anything from a water bottle to an app icon. And you don't need a 3D model or a studio to make one — a good product photo is enough.

The structure

A reveal runs about five seconds:

  1. Darkness → light (0–1.5 s): the product rises into a spotlight and brightens.
  2. The glint (1.5–2.5 s): a sweep of light across the product, with a soft reflection on the floor.
  3. The name (2–3 s): a small kicker ("Introducing"), then the product name.
  4. One line (3 s+): the single benefit that matters most.

When to use it

  • Launch announcements and teasers — post it the day before and the day of.
  • New versions — "Kova Bottle 2" deserves its own moment.
  • Website heroes and YouTube intros — the 16:9 version doubles as a header video.

It isn't the right format for showing a product in use or walking through features — pair it with spec callouts or a screenshot showcase for that.

Prepare the product image

  • Use a cut-out. A PNG with a transparent background is what makes the spotlight, glow and reflection look real. A boxed photo breaks the illusion.
  • Shoot or export it straight-on, evenly lit, with the product filling most of the frame.
  • SVG works too for app icons and logos.

Write the copy

  • Kicker (up to three words): "Introducing", "New", "Meet".
  • Headline (up to six words): the product name — nothing else.
  • Sub line (up to 12 words): the one benefit. "Cold for 24 hours. Lighter than ever."

Keep claims true: the sub line is a product claim and must hold up.

Make it with Claude Opus 5.5 (or any agent)

The free Product Reveal Skill renders this locally. Install it and ask:

Make a product reveal for bottle.png: kicker "Introducing", headline "Kova Bottle 2", sub line "Cold for 24 hours. Lighter than ever." 16:9 and 9:16.

Your agent confirms the copy, validates the image and renders the MP4s in seconds — the 16:9 version puts the name beside the product, the 9:16 version below it. See how Opus 5.5 video generation works if you're new to agent-made video.

FAQ

Do I need a 3D model? No. One product photo is enough.

Can I change the colours? Yes — the background, text and accent (used for the kicker) are all settable.
